Boswell Elementary Safe Room

The FEMA Safe Room at Boswell Elementary, located at 695 Millcreek Road, is ready for use during tornato and dangerous high wind events. 

  • The Community Safe Room is owned by Lebanon Schools, and its first function is to provide protection for Boswell Elementary students and staff during tornado and extreme high wind events during school hours. 
  • During and after school hours, the Safe Room will also be available to residents who do not have safe locations to take shelter such as a basement and who live within the Tornado Protection Zone (TPZ - see link to map below)

Notification of Safe Room Opening: 

  • Boswell Elemenetary serves as a designated safety room when: 
    • Tornado Warnings are issues
    • The Office of Emergency Management deems it necessary to open this space

How to Access the Safe Room: 

  • Signage directing you to the safe room entrance will be provided. 
  • Please access the building at 695 Millcreek Road

**Exercise caution in the case of inclement weather when traveling to the location. Please note that if a weather warning is issue after school hours, a designated trained safe room supervisor will open the facility for the community and oversee the facility for the duration of the weather warning.
